What Chris
Stands For
Chris knows the future of the state of Wisconsin rests on a dedication to education, healthcare, and jobs supported by quality infrastructure. He envisions a district where every child benefits from top-tier public schools, every resident has access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare, and each community member can work wherever they want, all backed by fast Internet, safe roads, and clean water.
Chris believes these actions should be acted on now. Instead of waiting for a handout from the federal government, Chris wants to use Wisconsin’s unprecedented budget surplus to invest in the communities he loves instead of cutting tax breaks for the rich.
Education
-
Every child deserves a well-funded education to unlock their full potential. The state legislature must support Governor Evers in the same way he supports education.
-
Public schools are the backbone of our community and provide many sources to the community beyond education.
The state’s lawmakers must prioritize public education in the same way they’ve supported private schools, ensuring Wisconsin can support the next generation of leaders.
Healthcare
-
First and foremost, we must ensure that the women of Wisconsin have the right to choose what’s best for their own health. These are choices that women are free to make with themselves and their doctors.
-
It’s time to expand Medicaid and offer BadgerCare as a public option to ensure more of our residents can afford the care they need and deserve.
-
Healthcare is a right, not a privilege; everyone should have access. The first step is to ensure our communities can compete for the necessary healthcare providers.
-
Mental health is as vital as physical health; we must prioritize it.
Deteriorating mental health in rural communities–especially amongst farmers–is becoming an epidemic that we must address by supporting mental health centers in communities large and small.
Governor Evers’s 2023 Year of Mental Health is over, but our mission is not.
-
Clean water is a basic human right and addressing contamination, especially PFAS, is urgent. We can no longer drag our feet on using the money specifically addressed to clean up PFAS in our communities.
-
Keep guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens. This includes instituting red-flag laws.
-
Addressing drug abuse with compassion and resources is key to a healthier community.
The State must support communities throughout Wisconsin that are tasked with allocating opioid settlement funds. These choices must be made wisely and deliberately to ensure they are most effective
Jobs +
Infrastructure
-
In the post-pandemic digital age in which many are working from home, broadband is a necessity.
Expanding broadband across the state will ensure Wisconsinites can work and live wherever they desire.
-
Connecting our rural communities is key to economic growth and for supporting agriculture in the district.
-
Childcare shouldn’t cost the same as college tuition. Every parent should have access to affordable childcare, ensuring they can work and contribute to our economy.
-
The future energy economy is a green energy economy. Wisconsin has the opportunity to be a leader in this area investing in green energy projects in our communities which leads to jobs and economic growth.
